Hip Hop Plus is an official program of JM International. JM International (JMI) is the largest youth music NGO in the world, created in Brussels, Belgium, in 1945 with the mission to "enable young people to develop through music across all boundaries". With member organisations currently in 40 countries and contact organisations in another 15, JMI is a global network providing opportunities for young people to engage with music. The JMI network reaches over 6 million young people aged 13-30 per year through more than 40,000 activities, which embrace all styles of music, and coordinates cross-border exchange opportunities on the international level.

It all begins in... BelJAM!

Hip Hop Plus a global program to empower young people through one of the most influential cultures of our time - Hip Hop. By creating a world-wide network of local events that engage young people in creative activities that allow them to express themselves and shine, Hip Hop Plus aims to provide young people with unique opportunities to grow personally and artistically.

The Plus implies that it is bigger than hip hop and thus open to a range of urban artistic forms of expression that have arisen from or are connected to hip hop culture. All HHP events are "All-Elements" allowing for a variety of creative outputs whilst ensuring that roots of hip hop are promoted used as the foundation for further exploration.

In 2018, Bij De Vieze Gasten will be hosting a series of Hip Hop Plus “Jams”, open events where Gent’s hip hop community can get together and showcase their skills, share knowledge and have fun. Every event provides a platform for local emcees, graffiti writers, breakdancers, beatboxers and beat makers to practice their art. To  HHP Jam please register online here or get there early and sign up live. Places are limited so make sure to be on time! We have walls to paint, we have mats to break, we have mics to rock and tables to turn so be there!
